Bio

The funny moments in life.

Jessica Carter is a stand up comedienne from Nashville, TN. She began her comedy career in 2009, and since that time has performed all over the country. With a background of over 15 years in acting, radio, and theatre management, she is happy to add stand up comedy to her performance life. She's consistently working on her comedy, and creating new material for her fans.

Jessica’s comedy - a mixture of absurdity, weird observations, and outright silliness - is full of her passion for all performance styles. She loves to create a variety of voices for her stand up, and is never afraid to point out the inappropriately funny moments of her life.

Since starting her comedy career, Jessica has advanced to finals in several large comedy contests in the Southeast - including the Scenic City Comedy Contest, The Rocky Top Comedy Contest, as well as The Funniest Mouth of the South contest . She has been featured on the comedy broadcast website www.RoofTopComedy.com. She performs on a regular basis at Zanies and the Girl On Girl Comedy show in Nashville. She's also a regular at The Comedy Catch in Chattanooga. In August of 2012, Jessica was chosen as a Top Ten Finalist for NBC's Stand-Up For Diverstiy showcase in Atlanta, GA. She's performed with Ambrose Jones, Katt Williams, Jay Pharoah, Mia Jackson, Ty Barnett and many more!

Jessica has been actively involved with Radio Free Nashville for the past 10 years. Her show, Friday Night Drama, features local actors and comics from the Nashville area. She promotes all kinds of shows, and features a wide range of music. Listen every Friday night from 7-9pm on 103.7 FM or on radiofreenashville.org.

She also hosts the comedy podcast about art called A Thousand Words featuring her funny friends Stan Ferguson and Ron Lubovich. They critique a different piece of artwork every week on the podcast. You will most definitely laugh and possibly learn something. (Learning something can't be guaranteed, but the laughter part can.) Check it out on http://www.crosstawk.com, ITunes and Sticher Radio.

Jessica is an extremely funny woman to say the least, and a very busy woman to say the most! Be sure to check out her calendar, and don’t miss an opportunity to go see this new rising star of comedy!
